Meghan Markle’s style secret: The symbolic fashion decision Prince Harry’s fiancée has adopted since falling in love with the royal
Meghan Markle has exploded into the lives of the British public, and like Prince Harry himself, it didn’t take us long to fall in love with her.
One aspect about the former Suits actress we adore is of course her distinctive style.
And the Meghan Markle Effect — seeing the public rush to copy her latest outfit causing it to instantly sell out — is already happening.
But there’s a secret to the bride-to-be’s style success.
Meghan (whose real name is actually not Meghan at all) always wears something by a British designer or something from a Canadian fashion house, bringing together two important parts of her world.
While Meghan was born in LA, California, she spent a lot of time living in Canada.
Suits, the US drama that put Meghan’s name on the map, is filmed in Toronto (despite being set in New York) meaning the 36 year old has set up camp there over the last few years.
Most recently, Prince William’s soon to be sister-in-law posed for her official engagement portraits with Prince Harry.
And for one of the intimate snaps, Meghan donned a gown by British bran Ralph & Russo. The ruffle black bottom and a sheer top with embroidery is said to be worth a whopping £56,000.
For the second image, the actress cosied up to Harry in cream cashmere jumper from Victoria Beckham.
But for her first public appearance since news broke that the couple were set to wed, the star opted for a Canadian brand.
The Suits actress opted for a huge white belted coat from Canadian designer, Line the Label, causing it’s website to crash minutes after she stepped out in the £450 number.
Likewise, she followed up in a double breast navy coat from Canadian brand Mackage (£585) days later as she matched Prince Harry.
Looking back at some of her other sell out picks, they all follow the same pattern.
