Welcome back to my OK! Online exclusive pregnancy blog [Emma McVey/OK! Online exclusive]

Hey guys!

I’ve had a good week, but I’m very tired at the moment, I think I jinxed myself when I said the third trimester is fine!

I was meant to have a health visit scheduled this week, just to check my health, but it was cancelled unfortunately because we’ve moved areas.

This week I’ve been spending time with Gary, looking after our friend’s twin babies and just preparing for Christmas!

Hitting back at trolls

This week I put out an Instagram post about comments I’ve been getting recently regarding the size of my bump.

Gary said so many times that I shouldn’t say anything, but I didn’t tell him I was posting it, but someone private messaged me saying ‘I don’t think you’re actually pregnant, you should be showing scans to prove it.’

I was shocked, the fact that people think I need to post scans to prove that I’m pregnant – that’s when I wrote back.

The thing is, there are other girls I’ve seen on Instagram who are pregnant and super tiny, but because Gary is so known, people see me more.

Is the baby coming early?

My doctors previously mentioned that because the baby is so big, I could go into labour early.

But to be honest, you can’t exactly guess what will happen, some people if they’re quite petite, and the baby is quite big, they do tend to come early.

I’m just hoping we’re safe over Christmas, I don’t really want to travel through Newcastle, especially on Christmas Day, that would be the worst – any other time I wouldn’t mind!

If we were to welcome the baby over Christmas it would be fine, but not Christmas Day – because we’ll be at the top of the country, and we need to travel to the bottom of the county – that would be difficult!

On New Years Eve would be a nightmare as well because everyone will be drinking – apart from me!

We’re having New Years at ours, because I don’t really want to go out, I just find it too busy.

Others wanted to host but we said we would host this year, I’ll be the one eating all the food!

Gary’s parenting practice

We looked after our friend’s twins the other night, which was great practice.

However, it did made us realise how much we need to think about where we’re going to put everything for the baby.

Because we’re on so many floors, Gary had to run up because we left the baby towels on the top floor – so towels will now have to be kept on this floor! Things are definitely being moved around.

Gary did his first feed with the twins, and I think he realised you don’t just give them the bottle, you’ve got to wind them and it’s a long process, he was like, ‘Oh my god do I have to do this in the middle of the night?’ and I said, ‘Yeah!’

I think it really helps having the twins here, because you can tell someone what to do, but until you’re actually doing it, you don’t really know, but I think with Gary, it will be the sleep, I think that will be the only thing that bothers him.

Cravings

I’ve had so many cravings this week!

We’ve had TGIFridays two times, and on Tuesday we ate the biggest pizza!

And then I wanted fish and chips really badly, I’ve just wanted really greasy food, I’ve been really bad this week – but it is Christmas!

Dressing the bump

This week I went with Gary to his Christmas work party.

It started at half past 6, and I was tired by 10, but I stayed until 12 – which I am really proud of!

It was good, but as the night goes on – and Christmas parties are worse than normal nights out – everyone gets louder, and louder, and I was the only person not drinking.

I find it so had dressing my baby bump – I can’t wait to be able to wear jeans again  [Emma McVey]

But it was a great night, I felt like I was hungover the next day though! Obviously I didn’t drink, but I was so tired.

I wore a red dress for the event, but I do find it so hard to dress my bump.

I said to my friend the other day, ‘I can’t wait to wear a pair of jeans,’ because honestly, the amount of pairs of the same ASOS leggings I’ve worn! I must buy them every two weeks, because I wear them and the stretch goes funny.

Jeans just don’t fit the bump but they still fit my legs, I feel really bland, I’m always in black and white! I’ve actually ordered a few bits for when I’m not pregnant, because I haven’t really bought clothes in nine months!

Finalising baby names

We’ve decided on a middle name, and we’re got two possible first names for him. It will be a case of when we see him, we’ll decide.

We’ll only have one middle name because obviously we’ve got Beadle McVey at the end, so there are already four names – let’s not make it any longer!

Next week

It’s Christmas next week! I keep forgetting it’s on Monday. I’ve also got my nephew’s birthday so I’m going to go shopping for him.

We’ll be travelling to Newcastle for Christmas, and then we’ll be back again for New Year.

Have a wonderful Christmas everyone!

Love Em and bump XX
