Taiwan promotes Go South Policy amid plans to help tech companies enter Thailand
In order to assist Taiwanese ICT companies to expand into Thailand, the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) held a press conference on the Taiwan AIoT Industry and Computex 2018 event on November 30.
To further shape Taiwan into a global technology hub, the Taiwan government has launched the “Asian Silicon Valley” development plan to foster the development of disruptive IoT technology and to build global startup ecosystems
Taiwan keeps playing an important role in the global ICT supply chain and AIoT ecosystems. Based on solid foundation of OEM/ODM business and R&D abilities, the Taiwan ICT industry has been transforming into an AIoT solution providers in the past few years.
The fast development of the Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIoT) will also boost Taiwan’s semiconductor industry in the next five years. The production value of Taiwan’s semiconductor industry is expected to grow more than 7 percent annually in 2018 as demand increases for integrated circuit (IC) devices for artificial intelligence applications.
